Chapter one: Purple Tapestry

Once there was a little girl named Sierra. She was a lovely girl with striking blue eyes and shiny brown hair that curled into sweet ringlets at the bottom. Sierra had a beautiful suitcase that was so lovely to look at that she brought it everywhere she went. She was quite proud of it as it was more special to her than any of her other posessions. It was covered in purple tapestry with little golden flowers woven throughout it. Close to the hand-carved wooden handle was a golden plate with her name engraved in fancy curly letters. She loved the way her name looked as the letters twirled through the r's and swished back up to dot her i. Often she would run her fingers over the plate so she could write her name like that, but it never looked as beautiful on paper.
There were many peculiar things about her special tapestry bag. For starters, she couldn't really remember where it came from. In fact, she cannot recall a time when she didn't have her suitcase. It seemed odd to her that she must have had it even as a baby, for what baby needs a beautiful tapestry bag, but she did love it, so it didn't really matter to her.
The suitcase was very dear to this sweet girl not only because it was beautiful, but for what was inside it. It's contents were none other than all of Sierra's experiences in her little lifetime. It held memories of her playing with her brothers, making cookies in the kitchen and splashing in puddles in the rain. But as you might expect, no child has only good things to remember. Yes, this bag also contained the tough moments too. Sierra sometimes wished the suitcase could leave out those memories, but it could not, for it it never lost anything once it was placed inside. This suitcase held even the times in Sierra's life that no one else knew about. The times when other people treated her unkindly and broke her heart leaving her feel like a worn out rag. Thankfully, the sweeter times when Sierra was kind and loving to others not because someone was watching, but just because she knew that was the right thing to do were also captured in this all-knowing bag. It made her happy to know that at least the suitcase held the truth for the times she was blamed fo things she did not do, or even when she got away with something naughty she had done.
Indeed, it was a strange bag.
